June: Summer Sketchbook Camp. Students K-12 grade. $20. All Materials Included
Class Time: 3:00 – 5:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday, June 16, 18, 23, 25
The summer sketchbook camp is a 4-session course on drawing with pencils, crayons, charcoal, and markers. Students are invited to use the sketchbooks they created in Bonny Brady’s class in May, or will be provided with a handmade sketchbook to use for this course During this class student will begin with an in depth study of line and texture, and progress toward mastery of shape, value, perspective, cartooning, and life forms like people and animals.
July: Clay Camp. Students K-12 grade. $30. All materials provided by the gallery.
Class time: 9:00 – 11:00 AM, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday; July 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, 23
Come to Clay Camp to learn to: make your own clay, make pots, tiles, and sculptural forms. Together we will mix a clay body, make a tile mural, do pinch bowls, model and coil a variety of forms. Then we will build an above ground pit kiln, fill it with our clay works, and bake it in a pit firing. Beginning and experienced clay workers will enjoy and learn in this class.
August: Youth Art Show. Students K-12. Friday, July 31– Sunday, August 23
Art delivery date: Monday, July 27, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reception, Sunday, August 2, 12 to 3 p.m.
Youth Art Summer Show. Please bring in your original Paintings, Drawing, Photography, Ceramics, Mixed Media and Three dimensional Sculptural works of art to the gallery between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., on Monday, July 27. All wall hanging art should be ready to hang with a wire attached to the back for hanging. Gallery staff will be on hand on July 27 to assist with hanging preparation. The gallery will provide pedestals for three dimensional sculpture.
