THE STUDENTS ART SHOW ~ FEBRUARY 1 TO 26, 2012
The annual Student Show art reception is Sunday, February 5, from 12-3 pm, with the awards and ribbons being given out at 12:30. The Ada Bigler Scholarship in the amount of $500 will be presented to a high school senior who exhibits great talent and professionalism.
In addition, Ed Keesling will be presenting an outstanding teacher a $200 California Art Education Association membership that will enable their students to participate in the annual CAEA Youth Art Month Show on the regional, state and federal level. Awards and cash prizes will also be presented for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places for 3 categories: Painting, Drawing, and Other Combined Mediums.
Students from 29 Palms Junior High and High School, La Contenta, Monument High School, Joshua Springs Christian, Our Lady of the Desert, and Yucca Valley High School participated in this year’s show.
The show runs February 1-26, the gift shop and gallery are open Wednesday through Sunday from noon to 3 pm. The gift shop is currently having a 10% discount store-wide for regular priced merchandise, 20% for members of the Artists’ Guild.
